Hello all! I have a Toshiba Satellite S50D-A that I would like to upgrade for gaming. I would like to be able to run most games on at least low-medium settings. (I don't really care about nice graphics, just solid FPS)

    Specs:

    Quad Core AMD A10-5745M APU ~ 2.1GHZ

    Windows 8.1

    DirectX 11

    8GB Ram

AMD Radeon HD 8610G + 8500M Dual Graphics with aprox. 5204MB of memory

    777GB free of 910GB HD

I think the only thing slowing me down is the graphics card, or maybe the processor. Any compatible and affordable upgrades you guys can recommend?

Thanks a bunch, and if you need anymore info, just ask!

You'll probably need to get a new laptop.. This can't be upgraded.. The AMD APU+GPU is just junk.. Sell it and upgrade to a new laptop..

No, you can't get a upgrade GPU and whom told you otherwise is ludicrous. What to Gaming get a laptop that specify gaming and those will cost close to 2000US not what you pay for mid level laptop.

No GPU upgrade options here. Only upgradable GPU in laptops is high end, heavy gaming laptops like the high end Clevos and Alienwares.

Yes, GPU upgrades for Workstations as well. And for big and thick Gaming machines. Those are the main two categories where an upgradable GPU will be found.

Which is a superb gamer and a far superior machine to the Toshibas. Not a bad option at all. Sensible and well built.

Yeah equivalent config here in UK is £1000... Just goes to show how cheap electronics are in the US...

have to agree... I upgrade the GPU's in my Elitebook W's, Zbook 17 and Precision M's all the time. even swap from Quadro to Fire Pro's depending on my need.

Many a laptop has soldered GPU. Bigger workstations and high end gaming laptops exceptions to that rule.
