    Upgrading a HP G62 screen

    I was wondering if I could get some help in figuring out if I can upgrade my HP G62 15.6 inch LCD screen to a LED screen???

    Any ideas??

    It would be easier to look up parts if you provided the model product number or the full model name.

    I believe the G62 was made during the transition of CCFL to LED, so yours could be either or.

    Also I wanted to ask, I know that laptops most of the time cannot get their graphics car updated because it is soldered onto the motherboard but is there a way to change it to a better on?

    Nothing's impossible, but upgrading the graphics card in a notebook that has integrated graphics basically is; sorry.

    The G62 went through a couple generations; later ones were offered with an LED-backlit screen. Realize it doesn't do a whole lot for the quality; mostly LEDs are used because they allow a thinner display and use less power, and these days they're all that are available anyway.

    Mind telling us what you're looking to do with your notebook? The most practical advice I can give you is to save up for a new one. If you're in the US/Canada, $500-600 buys a decent computer for general purpose.
