Alright. I own a Toshiba Satellite X205-S9349, and Im looking to upgrade the processor and both of the hard drives. Ive done some research into what i would need to buy and looked up both parts. My reason for coming here is twofold.
Im not too sure about the processor. Its currently an Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.80ghz) which I beleive is a Socket P, at least according to Wikipedia. Im looking to replace it with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.6ghz). My question is what will I need to replace the processor, and what issues should I keep in mind? Im not new to replacing computer hardware, but this is the first time Ive worked on a laptop and the first time Ive replaced a processor.
I dont think I will have any problems replacing the hard drives. Im going to open up the bays and check the size and connector types of my current hard drives before looking up and buying faster ones.
Thank you in advance for your time and any help you may be able to offer.

Issues, I dont know other than your voiding your warranty (your 1 year free warranty) and dont put too much thermal paste on the new processor because alot != good heat distribution. I'm not sure what socket you have or need to buy, i'm sorry.

The cost is usually not worth the benefit when upgrading the CPU. Adding faster hard drives and more memory will yield better results. The hard drive on the X205 uses a SATA connector. Right now the Hitachi 7k200 is the performance champ.

I don't think it's worth it. I highly doubt that this will be a trouble free replacement. The fastest HDDs are Hitachi made (T7K200; 200GB). If you want 2 of those + a T7700 (which runs at 2.4Ghz by the way) you're going to have to pay around 700$, which is not all that great.

I found the 120GB 5400RPM drives in the X205 to be reasonably fast, are they a significant bottleneck for you?
Upgrading the processor probably voids your warranty so it's not a good idea. -
