    Hello again,

I recently created a thread regarding bluray player upgrade on my new laptop but now I was wondering about the Graphics Card.

My current laptop model is an Alienware ALW14-2814SLV. Its current GPU is the 'Geforce GT 750m'.

Would I be able to upgrade the GPU myself, or hire someone to do it if I was to obtain a 'Geforce GTX 850m' or GTX 700s or something along those lines. Just wanting to put a higher end card in.

It seems you cant really buy these laptop graphics cards separately from what I see. Would I have to buy one that has been previously taken out of a laptop?

Would anyone here recommend this? Is it a difficult task? Could I just hire a professional for 50-100$ to do it? And would you say is it difficult to obtain a higher end Graphics card separately for laptops?

    Thanks so much as always,

    Luo01

Found some on ebay that can be purchased separately.

But finding them separately doesnt seem very common.

The GPU in this laptop is soldered to the mainboard. The only upgrade is to a GTX 765M and that requires swapping out the entire board.

Actually, it turns out its a ALW14-1250SLV. Does this make any difference with being able to upgrade the graphics card?

Also, since my model is actually ALW14-1250sLV. The native screen resolution is WXGA (1366x768).

This particular model did not come with an HD screen. Could one still be installed? Or would I have to replace other components. Its all 30pin LED socket. But would I have to replace the cable at all? I can get other Alienware 14 1080p Screens. A screen from a ALW14-1214sLV. That model has full 1080p screens. laptopscreen.com has them.

Couldn't I just plug in one of those and plug and play, or would other stuff have to be upgraded. My model has all the same graphics cards as models with full 1080p screens.
