    I want to upgrade my compaq presario 1688 notebook MOBO to something much faster while still using the same chassis. Is there another compaq MOBO you guys can suggest that will work? THANKS!

    K6+ use 0.18 micron unlike k6 0.25 micron.
    K6-2+ 1.4 - 2.0v 20 watts max, K6-2 2.2 - 2.8v 29 watts max. K6-3+ 1.4 - 2.0 volt 23 watts.

    Do you have a K6-2 cpu in there. If you do try researching upgrading the cpu to a k6-2 500 for cheap $14.

    My first computer was a emachine 300mhz upgraded cpu to k6-2+ 450mhz voodoo3. That was a excellent gaming machine for 3 years.
