Upgrading the processor might void your warranty - I'd say look for another laptop if you have to do that.

The only dual-core CPU you could put in the Fujitsu would be the U2500, which may or may not work - risky. And the LG Xnote cannot be upgraded beyond a low-voltage Pentium M, which is really quite weak.

You would be better off looking at a ThinkPad X60 if you want more performance - 12", comes with a Core Duo and a 2.5" hard drive, not a pathetic 1.8".

If you complete the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum, we can give you some nice recommendations - there are quite a few options out there and I'm sure I don't know them all.

well, while you are hopefully filling out the faq, i will suggest a laptop once that is complete :D

but i wanted to comment on your choices... i really wouldn't buy either one the fujitsu is way over priced for what you get... 1800-1900 for so-so processor, bad horrible harddrive and average to low graphics card?... i dont think so...

the other choice your ulti slim 2.4pounder is actually much better in turns of usability.. nice graphics card (for a slim notebook) so-so processor kinda on the weak side... and they didnt list rpms on the harddrive.. but 60gb isnt to bad..

between the 2 id go with the second one..

however, like chaz said you probablilty won't have any luck sticking a dual core processor in either one even if you could i have a feeling that the notebook would overheat and possibly fry your mainboard... in regards to the graphics card.. if it is and this is a big "IF" if it is not soldered onto the mobo... then you can possibly upgrade the lg xnote to a 128 geforce.. but thats a big IF... the fujitsu i would forget about really not worth the money...

wait..... that guy from the review that you posted on the fujitsu paid 5000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USD WTF!??!?! im sorrry i have to scream... i wouldnt pay 1000 for that... jesus.. .... for 5000 i can get a double 7900gt nvidia.. ... yikes

You can't upgrade the motherboard, no. They're all proprietary. You'll probably have to look for another laptop that suits your needs.

Basically, it would be quite a bit cheaper to buy a new one. Laptops are MUCH different than desktops in that regard.
