I didnt know if this was the spot to put this so if not move it for me please =P

Im using gateways instructions on how to do it, basically burn the image of the .iso file on a disk, boot to disk drive, but it says theres no boot software or something like that and it just goes to normal bios and boots iteself, any advice?

Do exactly what they say. Make sure your battery is full charged and you are plugged in, because if the power shuts out while the BIOS is being updated, you're in trouble. Other than that, it's usually easy as cake.

BTW: Not sure if this is the right forum, but good try :)

I'll explain exactly what im doing, burning iso to disk using nero, restarting computer, hitting f10 so it goes into boot menu, choosing disk drive. But it doesnt ever work =/

You dont burn the ISO file to the disc, you open the iso file in nero and burn its contents to disc.

An ISO file is like an envolope that contains the files that are needed along with other bits of information.

From Nero Express, open a disc image and point it at the ISO file. This will then allow you to make a disc correctly. If you have the full version of Nero just close the bit where you choose the disc type and then choose File and Open to point it at the ISO file.

Burning the ISO file itself on a disc will not work.

I think what everyone is trying to convey is that you have to make sure you are burning the ISO as an image to the disc, not just as a regular data file. If you're already doing that, then I'm not sure what the problem would be with the BIOS update, because AFAIK, BIOS is not dependent on OS.

I think i already did that with nero but i'll attempt later again tonight, be back with results. And i know its not dependent on os, that was for the program atbnet told me to use for it, which requires you to have a dell computer or vista, i have vista but it wont let me use it but nero should work.
