What am I looking at as far as upgrading my graphics card or memory?
I'm pretty sure the memory HP gives out is probably garbage so I would like to upgrade that to 4GB of brand new memory...(Just can't figure out which one is compatible)
From what I read the graphics card is not that great so does anyone know a graphics card I could buy to stick in there to help run games better?
Thanks a lot

You can't upgrade the graphics card, but check the RAM Deals thread to get RAM for cheap. Only get 3GB though, as your computer will not actually "see" most of the 4th GB.

Nevermind
Okay thank you -
You never mentioned 64bit anywhere
-
Well when I built the laptop it said UPGRADE TO WINDOWS ULTIMATE for $60.00 Extra which I did cause its a good deal and now it says UPGRADE TO WINDOWS ULTIMATE 64BIT so I'm not sure if it is and I don't haev the laptop yet because it takes forever for HP to ship it

I see.. well you will have to wait till you recieve it then.. If you got 64bit go get yourself 2x2gb RAM from newegg. If its 32bit grab urself a stick of 2gb
As far as upgrading GPU its not possible for pavilions. But YOU can improve it by adding more RAM which increases the GPUs shared memory (turbocache) -
I was just curious, what's preventing a user from replacing the gpu in a pavilion? Is it hardwired in somehow?
-
Its soldered onto the actual motherboard.
-
Its probrably soldered onto the motherboard, and you'll need to find a replacement that will, 1) Fit 2) Work with BIOs 3) Have sufficient cooling.
There are a few handful(seriously, like 15 of them) of notebooks that can have their graphics card changed, and they are usually Sager, Clevo, ASUS, Compal, Dell and thats pretty much it. Even if they can be changed, it does not mean it is easy, cost efficient, and the selection is very limited. -
I've got a pavilion with the 8600M GS and all I did was overclock it and it went great!
