So im fairly new to owning a laptop like my new m17xr2. I just got it yesterday and want to upgrade it to 8gigs of 1333 ocz ram. Never done a ram upgrade before and was wondering if anybody could tell me, or even post a few picture of the m17xr2 on how to go about replacing this correctly and without damaging any other components.
    Thanks

There's a good instruction in the user manual (which can be found here along with the service manual which is more detailed)

It's really easy. Do a power drain before you replace the RAM (unplug the AC, remove the battery, press and hold down the power button (little alienhead) for about 20 seconds.

Then exchange the RAM and then put the battery back.

Check out the M17x section of this forum, there you'll find a lot of great information: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m17x/

Edit: Welcome to the NBR forum!!
