    Hi,

I have a Asus M9V and I did a bit of research on the net regarding it's memory and such, what I've worked out is that it has 'Memory: 512MB DDRII PC 4200 (2Gb Max)' from Here in it at the moment.
Does anyone know how many slots it has? seeing that it has one stick of 512 at the moment could I buy another stick of 512 and 1gb to upgrade it to 2gb? or is there only 2 slots on the motherboard?

When buying my RAM does am I only restricted to buying 533mhz and PC4200 for my notebook or will 667mhz and/or PC5400 work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks for that, so the maximum RAM I can have is 1.5gb not 2gb? unless there are 1.5gb sticks, which I haven't seen before.
What about the PC4200 and PC5400? what's the difference between those?

I believe a 1GB stick is the maximum its going to support. The PC 4200/3200/5400 etc. are refering to the peak bandwidth of the memories. Each run at different frequencies - PC 4200 is 533MHz(266 since its DDR), PC 5400 runs at 667MHz(333) so the peak bandwith available also vaires. Ofcourse in your case you are limited to PC4200/4300 memory due to the bus speed. Memories are usually run at 1:1 or lower ratio with the bus.

    Hi again,

I just bought my stick of ram and just opened up my memory expansion, I've read other tutorials on the internet on how to install the memory, here but I'm having trouble with opening the clips, think anyone can give me a hand?

Sorry for the blurry image, it was taken with my phone.

To remove :pull the clips apart slightly and pull the SODIMM out. You'll have to apply a little bit of force.

To install: You should just push the sodimm in. You might have to finagle it a little bit. Play with the clips. You won't break anything as long as you don't push/pull stupid hard.
