So I'm stuck with on a 1366 x 768 glossy display, and I'm keen to upgrade the screen myself, hopefully to a 1920 x 1080 screen, with better viewing angles and colours.

Heres what I have atm: CHIMEI INNOLUX N156BGE-LB1 Overview - Panelook.com

and I'm looking to upgrade to something like this: AUO B156HW02 V0 Overview - Panelook.com

The current screen I'm on uses a 1 ch, 6 bit LVDS signal interface, and the panel that I'm looking at use a 2 ch, 6 bit LVDS interface. Is this new panel compatible with my existing laptop's (HP 6z-1000) interface?

Both panels use the standard 40 pin connection, however I'm unsure as to whether the signals will be compatible.

    Any thoughts? Many thanks

    I all!

It seems that I would write the same post, so here I am to ask you the same question.

ipex cable 40 pin 2ch/6bit for a fullHD screen, in order to replace an horrible standard 1366x768 display.

    What about compatibility?

    TIA!

Usually screens below 1600x900 use 30 pin connectors on the motherboard, and anything there or above uses 40, or occasionally 50 pin connectors. I'm not sure if your current laptop is set up that way, but I would assume it is. I'm also not sure of a way to check what kind of cable it is, short of taking it apart and physically checking, or looking up the model number of the display you have with something like HWinfo and then seeing what kind of connector that display has.

    Hi!
I've found this topic because actually I'm facing similar problem with my HP Sleekbook-15 b050sw. I'd like to swap my 1366x768 screen to 1920x1080. I know now that my motherboard connector is 30 pin, screen connector is 40 pin. Cable from motherboard to screen is 1 ch 6bit. Is it possible to get an adapter switching from motheboard 30 pin connector to 40 pin to be able to attach 2 ch 6 bit cable?

    Regards!

All you need to do is check if a full hd option is offered on your model. If it is then you should be fine upgrading however bear in mind they sometimes change the LCD cable between screen types so this may also need to be swapped.

My model was never introduced with Full HD option. And that's where the problem is. I know that Intel HD 4000 (My laptop has Intel HD 4000 and GeForce GT630M as well) can display Full HD as I had full HD monitor connected via HDMI port. But, as TriBeard mentioned obove, 30 pin motherboard connectors are used with screens below 1600x900. And now my question is: if my graphic card can display full HD via HDMI can it display full HD via 30 pin motherboard connector?? Another question is: if it is possible for my laptop where to find suitable cable or adapter or both??

below there are screen 40 pin and motherboard 30 pin connectors pictures

If you have 30-pin LVDS, you are limited to 1366*768/1280*800@60Hz, no other way around it.
