    Hello there.

I recentley purchased a COMPAQ Presario V2627AU, and wish to upgrade it.
It currentley has 512mb of DDR333 RAM (sinlge stick). I wish for it to have 1gb. Will this RAM work in this laptop: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/512Mb-Memory...883980557QQcategoryZ11172QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, what about upgrading HDD? It has a 40gb, but I would like an 80gb. I found some for sale for $170AUD, and am thinking of getting it. Is it possible for me to upgrade the laptop by myself, without having to take it in somewhere? I have built and upgraded numerous desktops, but have never touched a laptops hardware before. Thanks :)

well, as long as it ddr memory for notebooks, it should be okay. i can't really tell what this ram is. and yes, you can upgrade your hd if you wanted. just make sure that you get a notebook hd of the proper typed (e.g. pata, sata).

No, that is the wrong kind of memory. It is an older type of memory that will not fit in your notebook. You need something like this. Yes, it is possible to upgrade your hard drive. Make sure you have the proper Windows discs if HP did not supply you with them before starting. Your drive is ide. I would suggest getting a faster 5400RPM drive as it will help system performance. Maybe something like this.
