I am about to get the Thinkpad X61 Tablet 1.8GHZ, 4MB, intel Core Duo...

I have the option of a HD capacity of either 250 or 320GB.
Is it worth it to pay around $400 more to get the upgraded version (320)?
Does it make a lot of difference in the notebook's performance/ speed?
How easy is it to upgrade it myself?

    Thanks a lot
    KC

No. Unless that HDD is made of pure gold I wouldn't pay that much. Check on-line to see what HDD's like that cost. I bet its much cheaper. Just go cheap on the HDD when ordering and upgrade later.

Upgrading is easy. You hook up the new HDD via USB to your lappy. Then use cloning software to create an image on the new HDD. Switch the HDDs and boot of your new larger one. Keep the old one as a back-up. If you have the OS DVD then you can also switch the HDDs right away and do a clean install and transfer your files later if you have any.
