    Hey

Id like to know to what I can update my RAM and HDD in my Dell Vostro 1510. I know the max capacity of this laptop is 4GB so it would be 2 2GB 800mhz RAM chips. Where and which could I buy them from? (international shipping)

The other is the HDD. Id like the biggest capacity HDD possible. I dont really care about speed since this is a laptop and it would take away battery life.

On the term of battery life, is there a better battery than what Dell has to offer (I currently have a 6 cell)

    Thank you

Current laptop HDD's top out at 500GB. Keep in mind that 7,200 RPM laptop hard drives come with twice the cache (16MB) that 5,400 RPM hard drives have (8MB) which will increase HDD performance.

If this doesn't matter, (and it does not to me as I appreciate battery power over a marginal gain in hard drive performance), I would spring for a 5,400 RPM 500GB Western Digital Black hard drive.

Check it out: LINK. I know you mentioned international earlier, but the link will provide the model number of the hard drive for you to purchase at your favorite retailer.

There probably is, but that is something you will most likely have to go through Dell for.

For your first question, here is a pair of OCZ (very good memory) on NewEgg:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227251

If you want it cheaper, go to a store around where you live and look for DDR2 800 MHz RAM.

Largest Mechanical Hard Drive: 500 GB

Dell offers a 9 cell battery for your laptop.

Damn getting this RAM is expensive. There is no sites online that ship to europe for a relative price. I tried Play UK but they dont ship this to anywhere that isnt UK.

    Any ideas?

Try using Google to find other UK retailers or just search that model number.

AFAIK, there is no UK retailer that ships to Europe with this model number. What other RAM brands are good? Ive seen a couple of other kits which look good but I dont know if they are reliable.

Yes, corsair is a good brand
However corsair rebrands memory chips, so it may have the same Samsung/Hynics/Qimonda memory chips as a much cheaper memory card.
Buy the cheapest memory you can find with a lifetime warranty, and you cannot go wrong. Almost all memory is exactly the same, so you will not see any difference in performance between say a corsair or kingston PC5300 card and a generic samsung Pc5300 memory card.

It was about quality. I know performance will be the same but I dont in a couple of months that my RAM chips go bad.

Corsair uses the same memory chips as the generic brands. The memory is attached in the same way as well. There isnt any real difference at all between the two other than a sticker.
If the price difference is huge, go for the cheaper memory card. It if like $5 more for the corsair, go for it, if it gives you that piece of mind.

I have had ro RMA memory sticks to Corsair 3 times in the past, and it usually takes 2-3 weeks for a replacement to come
