Hello everyone. I've been searching to just buy an external harddrive, however why not just upgrade the harddrive in my laptop. I'm looking to upgrade it to a 1-2TB harddrive. Is this possible for this model of laptop? If so, what kind of harddrive would I need to buy? Thanks in Advance!

Your laptop uses a 2.5" hard drive, but you also need to find one that fits the height restriction of your laptop. Anything over 750gb will most likely be higher than a standard 2.5" drive

The maximum thickness of the harddrive that most laptops will accept is 9.5mm. I suspect your Sony falls into this catagory. To make sure what the maximum thickness HD your Vaio is capable of supporting give Sony a call.

Harddrives with capacities greater than 750GB (and some 750GB) are thicker than 9.5mm and most probably will not fit in your laptop. When searching for a HD the dimensions will be posted in the specification info.
