    So,
I think it's time for my g73jh to get a screen upgrade, the only problem I have, is that I would like to keep 1600x900 resolution , but with better angles, black and colors...
So far I saw no screen that was better than this crappy AOU B173HW01 V.3... (nor better than the 1600x900 LG that is usually used over this AOU, which has basically the same stats)

Besides maybe the screens that are currently being used by the new alienware R3, which I never had a chance to find info about...
SO, does anyone know which screen is the new m17x r3 using for their 1600x900 res models?

Since I doubt that anyone will help me out on said matter, let me go ahead:

If I were to upgrade to a FHD panel, is the B173HW01 V.4 really better than the standard g73's Hannstar (which model should be HSD173PUW1)

I also know that there are MATTE version of those FHD screen, if I pick a MATTE one, what I am going to lose? (color? contrast? brightness?)
Thanks to anyone who is willing to help

Matte is almost always better than glossy. Any reason why you don't want 1808p?

With a matte screen, colors will "pop" a little less, and it won't be as bright as a glossy screen. On the other hand, this will usually also make it easier on your eyes, so you can spend longer periods of time in front of the screen with less eye strain. Glossy screens are half of the reason why screen quality has been declining so much; with a glossy screen, they can skimp on the basic brightness and colors because the glossy screen makes them look better.

Only for the FPS drop that the FHD bring (I get like 10/15 more FPS with 1600*900 resolution, and while I can downscale the resolution with the FHD, I dislike the idea of either having to use black strips or to have a blurried image for not gaming at native resolution...

thanks for explaining the Glossy/Matte difference, so I guess that since both the hannstar and the AOU are considered to be great panels, I won't be losing too much color if I pick the matte one (and mine, which is very bright is usually too much bright anyway!!!)
I also know that the G73 3D has a MATTE and Brighter screen, but I don't know it's ID part, could it be used on the non 3D g73?
