    Anyone here that bought an Inspiron e1705 with 5400RPM upgraded it with a 7200 RPM one?
    Is it doable? :confused:

    all notebook harddrives are upgradeable

    any 7200 HD can run in that laptop without problem?

    It looks like you can put in an SATA hard drive, which should be quicker than an ATA. Basically a 2.5" SATA hard drive is what you're looking for.

    any hard drive with the same form factor (2.5") and the same connector (SATA i believe for yours, but i could be wrong) will work.

    it's not a noob question, it's just all you asked was "if it's doable" to which the answer is yes. if you're looking for more specific information, you'll get better answers with more specific questions

    Yes, the HDD is easily upgradable.

    Well, the e1705 uses a S-ATA HDD connection. You cannot need P-ATA connection HDD as the e1705 does not support it.

    Other than that, it's just a matter of undoing a screw, pulling out and popping in the Hard Drive, and then installing XP.

    Yes it's doable,wanted to upgrade my gfx card couldn't find one so opt for HDD instead,did just today no problems.
