If you upgrade to a blu-ray drive when customizing a laptop, does it lose the functionality of burning dual-layer DVD's?

Because under one option it says DVDRW DL SuperMulti

and then DVDRW BD Bluray Drive, but I don't see DL anywhere, and I love Dual layer DVD's :)

Can someone please answer? Its been bugging me. Sorry if this question is common knowledge. It's been awhile since I started looking into computers, and I'm trying to catch up on the new tech.

I don't think it's common knowledge - rather, isn't it quite the opposite in that it varies from burner to burner? So without knowing the exact model, it's impossible to say...

[Edit] If you're buying from an OEM with good in-house customer service, call their sales line and ask. If you plan to buy from an OEM with a known track record of customer service disasters (which is most OEMs), email them so you have a copy as proof when it turns out the CSR was wrong and you need to return the laptop.
