    Hello guys,

First of all, my english isnt all good but ill try to make myself undestand.
I hace an old laptop, mits a Hp dv6 bought like 5 years ago. It has a i7 720qm, 4gm ram ddr3 and a ati raedon hd 5650. Its pretty old now and I want to bring it a new life. When i boguht it i was running a game pretty smooth, and the game now runs very laggy and slow. I asked for some advice and some people told me that its maby my hdd that died so i decided to buy a new one.
My question is, my computer is old so i suppose that it will not run the last ssds at it highest speed so i dont want to waste extra money that i wll not get benefits from it. What ssd should i pick? I want a 120gb one.

I also want to buy 2x4 gb of ram. I dont know how to see what kind of ram i hace but i think its a 1333mhz qnd ddr3. Can someone tell me which ram is compatible witch my computer? If you need more specs for it just tell me how to get it and ill post it

    Thank you very much.

I think you need to reinstall Windows.. it's been over 5 years so the installation has become slow.. Reinstall windows and you'll be good as new... RAM wise, any DDR3 RAM will work.. generally 1600Mhz RAM is avalable but it will downclock to 1066MHz/1333MHz if needed... I would reinstall Windows and get RAM.. it will be enough.. SSD wise, 120GB is hardly going to be enough lol.. You want to get a 240GB one.. Have a look at the Crucial MX100.. It will be quite cheap and good enough for your computer..

Seconded, save up for a larger SSD than 120GB.

+ 1 right here. A 240GB SSD will also be notably faster than its 120GB counterparts 99% of the time.

Crucial's website has a system scanner that will tell you the type of memory: Crucial.com - DRAM, solid state drive (SSD) memory upgrades for Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Acer, ASUS
For your computer, DDR3-1333 So-DIMMs should work (not DDR3 L).

Your computer is perfectly capable of running modern applications and programs, though not the latest games - the video card is the bottleneck there and it's not upgradeable. Upping the RAM and adding an SSD is a good way to breathe new life into the system however.

    Okey, ill take your advices.
I already tryed reinstalling windows and problem is still here.
So now i have another question. I did not wanted to waste more than 150euros, its like 200 dollars.
So can i buy a single 4gb ram and put it with one of the old 2gb ram? And is it really worth buying more ram? When im playing its like at 60% max, but if it the computer will get any boost ill prefer adding some.

Can i post a local website seller here? Id like you to give me the better ram and ssd if you please.

    Thank you very much guys

6GB will be a nice amount to have. I'd suggest getting a 4GB stick.

I see nothing wrong with you posting a link to any place that you'd possibly be buying from...

Okey an what about the RAM? im very confused, i just read a description of a gskillripjaws and it says that it will only run on 1.35v, and mines are 1.5

Can u pick one ram please? the crucial website recommend me this one :

    8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V
    CT5307167

    DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V •

and its 1.35v, im very confused.

    Sorry for that much questions.
