I am attempting to upgrade an Asus N56 VZ with an Intel Advanced N 6235 wireless adapter. So far I've got the dual band transmission however the Bluetooth 4.0 and WiDi are not functioning. This upgrade is offered by the folks at Xotic PC who assure me that the adapter can be installed with full functionality, but they won't let me in on their secret. I would appreciate any help to solve this problem including referrals to other sources. Thank you.

I'm sure I've seen the option somewhere in proset wireless Intel software... They've been changing it about though, so not sure anymore. There should be enable bluetooth clicker somewhere there.

Did you download the lastest Intel wifi driver? If not I would say get it and there is a extra different Intel download for the blue tooth driver on their site that you need to download to get the Intel Bluetooth to work. What O/S are you using??? But I will say always do ones homework and check the hardware manufacture site not just Asus site...they will not have the latest or newest drivers.....

This is for the Intel 6235 download page....but you need to check to see what O/S you have to get the right drivers....

If Windows 7 here is the link to intel bluetooth.

Update: I have been able to get the Bluetooth working. Seems it was a problem with pairing the Bluetooth device. I have downloaded all of the required drivers from Intel's site for Windows 8.1. The WiDi Software is no longer needed with Windows 8.1. According to Intel's instructions all previous software and drivers were removed. The graphics driver for Intel HD 4000 graphics was first installed followed by the Intel drivers for Bluetooth then the drivers for the Intel 6235. All went well except for the graphics driver which could not be installed from Intel's site. A message popped up stating that the manufacturer of the PC (Asus) had customized the drivers so they were downloaded from the Asus site. A read me file in the Asus graphics download showed the driver listed with the same version number as on the Intel site. The Intel instructions on installing WiDi list the first step as upgrading the graphics driver. Could this be the problem? When trying to enable WiDi my device, a Netgear NeoTV 300SL is detected but will not connect. So as it stands now I have my dual band transmission and Bluetooth but no WiDi. All help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

As to the video if it is Intel HD I would use the Intel drivers and replace the Asus drivers. Just like for the Wifi and bluetooth use Intel for Intel hardware...even if Asus have the drivers I would for use Asus drivers for inital install but after that use the Intel drivers and replace the Asus drivers.

Update: I now have WiDi working somewhat. I changed my wireless signal from 5 GHz to 2.5 GHz and was able to detect my NeoTV 300SL adapter and display my computer screen on my TV. Still am having problems however. No sound and my DVD/Blu-ray player will not play a DVD while connected to WiDi. Any Thoughts? Please Help! Thank you.

I love how Intel advertises Widi as if it's the easiest thing in the world to have working. Clearly it is not.

Go through settings thoroughly, both TV and laptop, also see if audio drivers are cooperative, as well as video player. Not sure if it just beams it over similar to other software, but might be a tick missing somewhere
