Hello, I am upgrading my laptop, looking to beef up the ram and get a faster hardrive on my Compaq v2305CA. The hardrive is only 4200rpm and I currently have 1 stick of 512mb ram in it.

Will these products work for this laptop?
    - Hitachi HD 60GB Mobile Harddrive, SATA 5400 rpm, 8MB Buffer
    - Kingmax PC2700 DDR333 512MB 200-pin SO-DIMM

I know that the kingmax ram will work but is the jump from a 4200rpm to a 5400rpm significant? And please do not say get a 7200 because I live in Canada and I need it tomorrow, but money is not on my side. Also is the drive compatible with this NB?

    Thanks Again NBR!! :)

I actually only upgraded the memory on my system and noticed a significant difference in performance, its much faster now.

your presario will work much faster with more memory.

these guys got some memory if you need it:

Yea, i was thinking of getting a 1gb stick instead of the hardrive and just have 1.5 but will there be a difference in game load times? I will be playing games that i know are playable on it from the 200m thread wouldnt game load times be better with a 5200 or would more ram be help?

ram will affect loading times for games more than a faster hard drive will, but both will help.
