Hello, I have a 8 gb of Kingston HyperX DDR III memory in my current lap. Im going to upgrade to i7 4700QM (P170SM) and im wondering if I can use the new memory in the lap, as i have read, that Haswell should have 1.35V memories or it can be damaged/or cpu will have short life span. My ram is 1.5V at all speeds (according to the kingston spec). Can I use the old memory?

    Here is the spec:

Are you upgrading your MB? It may have support for both 1.5V and 1.35V RAM.

If you're only upgrading your processor; I don't think that's possible?

    Oh, okay.

Again; if the new notebook's MB and/or BIOS supports both 1.35V and 1.5V RAM, then you can.

Otherwise; using anything other than the 1.35V RAM may not even allow the notebook to boot (hopefully no damage is caused, but no guarantees).

The question is now if Clevo P170SM support 1.5V ram.
