Can anyone confirm if the 2TB version of WD External HD WD Elements Desktop works with XP without having to install a special driver or software?

XP should be able to see see any partitions up to 2TB. I had a Hitachi 2TB in my XP desktop and had no issues with it, but I've not seen the WD.

As long as you don't try to boot from it, you should be fine with the 2TB external in XP (no matter which SP version you have running).

At the worst, you may simply have to use it with two partitions.

    Good luck.
