i took out the HDD of my older laptop.
and used an AC powered USB To SATA connector to recover data...but its not an enclosure.
is there an enclosure/casing in market by which i can use the laptop HDD like an IDE hdd...i.e carry it around and connect it via USB?
its 160 GB and figured i could use it to carry movies

Er, you might need to be more specific. Does your HDD have a SATA interface, or an IDE interface? It sounds like it has a SATA interface, which means the enclosures Forge linked won't work, but your mention of IDE HDDs is confusing. It might be worth noting that IDE is an older interface these days, and most modern HDDs use a SATA interface (at least in notebook applications; desktop applications do tend towards a little more variety).
Using SATA HDD with enclosure?
