    Hello,

I have an HP Laptop with an ATi 5470 gpu. I currently have it hooked up to a 2nd monitor via hdmi. I am a day trader and would like to add a third monitor. I have both HDMI and DVI(open). How can I get the laptop to extend to the 3rd monitor.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe you need an adapter like the Matrox DualHead2Go which you connect to your laptop's dvi or hdmi and connect your two monitors to the adapter.

Oh, so its not as simple as plugging one monitor into the HDMI output and one into the DVI?

No, its still just one output on your laptop it just has more than one output type for compatibility reasons.
