Can I use one Dell default 512 MB (x1, 533 MHz, 200 pin) Memory and additionally bought Corsair 1GB (533, 200 pin) memory on my new Dell Inspirion E1505?

I heard smwhere that smtimes there is problem while using diffrent make RAMs.

Any care should I take before installing?

As long as it is the same type/speed, then it will run fine. The sticks need not be the same size.

The vast majority of the time it will be alright. Sometimes I've had problems with, say, mixing modules with Infineon chips with modules with Micron chips. Also make sure you get some decent quality RAM like Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, Transcend, or Mushkin for example. The lower quality the memory the more likely you'll have problems with mixing.

Also be prepared to turn off SPD and back off the timings manually.
