Hi,
I will be getting a laptop that I will be using on the desk, so it will always be plugged into the charger. The laptop battery is not removable easily, and would require to open the laptop to remove it (but not sure if its easy to remove)
I want to remove the battery so it does not drain. What are my options?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

You could disassemble the laptop to remove the battery, or you could just leave it in there and not be paranoid. Don't worry, everything will be just fine if you leave it in there. What degrades the batteries most is time, which you have no control over, as well as use cycles, which you do have control over. But if you leave it plugged in constantly, you aren't going to be doing much draining and charging the battery.

Yeah.. lithium ion and polymer batteries tend to have some sort of circuit that lets the battery slowly discharge a few percent before it's charged by the powersupply. And that seems to damage even organic batteries less than putting them in storage, and potentially discharging them too much. In any case - synthetic batteries will lose their max charge slower, and the organic batteries will lose the max charge relatively quickly no matter what..
Using laptop on desk, want to remove battery, but not removable?
