Lenovo X200 with seagate 2.5" momentus HD (let's call it HD1)
Vantec NST-260SU enclosure with seagate 2.5" momentus HD (let's call it HD2)

I purchased a Vantec NST-280S3 enclosure and an OCZ SSD recently. I've took out the HD1 from the laptop and put in the OCZ SSD.

When I put in HD1 (that was in the laptop) into the NST-280S3 enclosure, HD1 is not coming up at all in Windows 7. I even check Disk Management but it doesn't exist there. HD1 is spinning and powered.

I then put HD1 into the NST-260SU and HD2 into the NST-280S3. HD1 does show up now but HD2 doesn't.

Anyone know why???? I'm just using the regular USB2 since my Lenovo X200 doesn't have USB3.

Do I have a defective enclosure?

Vantec enclosures suck. Try a different brand.
