What's a "good" number? Not the "best" number, but what is a decent, adequate number?

    Thanks

Something in the 4 range is good. I'd say 3.8 to 4.3 is most common. My U709 gets a 5.9, but usually the desktop replacements are the only lappy's which will have a 5 score becuase most laptops do not have the gpu power.

that means your 2.6GHz CPU got a 5.9 WEI while an intel 2.6G C2D is rated only 5.4....

Look, I do not know what Vista calculates or compares it to, that is simply what I get in Vista Ultimate. I have done many calculations and tests between the E6700 @2.66Ghz and my Opteron @2.6Ghz, and after the sandra tests in both mflops and mips, my processor comes out to about 2.86 % slower than the E6700. The loss is probably the 60Mhz core speed difference and the higher FSB of the Intel processor. AMD Opteron processors are AMD's best line, they outperform all athlon processors with their three hypertransport links. The Opteron is not a latop processor, and because it is a server processor it has more power than a laptop one.
