I have a sony vaio vgn-fz18e and am wondering about a hard drive upgrade

It currently has a 160gb SATA 8mb Cache drive. I am basically wondering if i could buy a SATA-300 (II) drive upgrade instead? Would it still work? Also many of the newer SATA-300 drives are 16mb cache...would this be a problem?

    Many Thanks for the help!!

Any 2.5" SATA1 or II will work as long as they are 9.5mm high.

My favorites are WD3200BEKT and WD5000BEVT.

Unless Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 is already available, but I don't think it is.

WD3200BEKT is what I just installed on my FZ 180, a couple weeks ago, and I have had no problems.
