I am looking to upgrade the RAM on my SZ110 from 1GB to 2 or 3GB.

Can anyone recommend the best available ram?

I'm not sure what specs to look for other than that it should be 200pin DDR2 PC 4200. I don't know if the SZ110 is picky on the Cas Latency, ECC, buffered or unbuffered.

Also, will a PC 5300 work?

    Thanks for the help!

There is no such thing as ECC laptop memory.
ECC memory is buffered memory, which is not supported by laptops.

All laptop memory is unbuffered, so all you need to match is the frequency it runs at, and the right kind of DDR memory.

Your sony uses PC4200 memory, with a maximum of 2Gb of memory

This is a good kit of memory to buy:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148086

This memory will automatically downclock from Pc5300 speeds to Pc4200 speeds in your laptop.

If you want stock Pc4200 memory, this is a good kit to buy:
