Hey! I'm going to be picking up a Sony Vaio VGN-FE890 soon and I have a choice between a standard battery and a large capacity battery. I should think that the "large capacity" battery would give me extra battery life, otherwise I would hard see the point. I guess my question is, is it worth the extra money? How much extra time are we talking?

    Thanks ahead of time!

It depends. Do you plan to use your laptop when it is not plugged in to an electrical outlet? If you said yes, then I recommend you purchase the larger capacity battery. I will probably rarely if ever use my laptop when it is not plugged in.

Absolutely, I guess when you put it that way it's kind of a stupid question.

I'll be using it to take notes during class.

Get the extended battery then. If you only have battery in class (and no outlet) and it suddenly goes out... :(

Even if the extended battery lasts longer that the number of hours that you're in class, you'll still want to use it in between as well. And you never know if you'll take more hours and want a longer battery life than you think you'll need now.
