Hello friends. Im planing to buy a new laptop a vaio, the model is VGN FW 290F (customizable) My question is what kind or ram memory it comes with thinkin“ that i want to upgrade it at 8 GB (It say DDR2 SDRAM PC2 6400) but i found 2 kinds of specified RAM First one is 240 pin and the other is 200 pin. hey man ive got the vgn fw290 in fact i just posted a question on here about upgrading the processor. but i dont think youre gonna need 8gb of ram the technology isnt out yet to support it. maybe if u wana future proof but ive got 4gb of ram and im fine in that area. just a noobs opinion lol.

By all means go for the 8GB if you can afford it, but I think it's a little overkill for now. What types of applications are you running?
If the RAM is SDRAM PC2-6400, you'll need the 240 pin. I don't think this type of RAM uses 200 pin. -

Your link does not tell me much. I myself would get 200pin RAM? I mean as that might actually fit? You are talking desktop vs notebook. We also call them SO-DIMM's?
