    Hi everyone,

After testing a new Vertex3 60gb AND Agility3 for 2 weeks in my Alienware M14x, I've noticed that everytime I boot my laptop unplugged, there's almost a guaranteed lag at the login screen (won't respond to keyboard typing the password for around 30-45 seconds) or a black screen with a mouse on top (needs force restart). My Agility3 can't even be detected in BIOS anymore so it's pretty much dead... only using the Vertex 3 at the moment.

Maybe that's just the case with OCZ drives, I've updated firmware to the latest 2.11 and have not tweaked any registry values, only turned off superfetch, disk index and hibernation. Power options are left untouched except limiting CPU to 40% on balance mode and HDD settings to 'never sleep'.

It's becoming increasingly annoying trying to start up my laptop in front of a client and then fingers crossed it will just lag instead of black screen =_=..... am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks in advance

Buying a SF drive and needing sleep/hibernate without checking out if it is really compatible with your notebook is the only thing you have done wrong. I have been advicing people not to do that since last Oct.

Since you have mentioned 'in front of client', I would say just sell/return it while you still can and get a x25m G2. The consequence(in these situation) of SF problem simply not worth the saving(if any) and the illusive performance difference.

    Hi Chimpanzee,

Thanks for your reply, I've disabled superfetch, disk index and hibernation. i.e. I shut down my computer fully everytime.

I'm thinking so swapping to a x25m too...

Yea this is a known issue with Sandforce drives, and one OCZ has chosen to blame consumers for instead of working with Sandforce for a fix. Cause that makes sense
