    I was going to buy a Dell Inspiron 1720 which I ordered in July but would not recieve it until mid October. I leave North America next week and then will be back for university so I am in a pinch and need a laptop. I want to run a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick off of my laptop, but I am unsure if a shared memory card could handle it? The Dell had a dedicated 256 NVIDIA and thought it would for sure, but I need some advice on what you think? I will post the notebook I am looking at and the Pinnacle specs. Please look and tell me what you think. I also planned to use the Pinnacle stick to play XBOX (not 360) on my notebook.

    Thanks alot for your advice/suggestions,

    Here are the minimum system requirements for the tuner:

    Minimum System Requirements

    * Windows® XP with SP2 or Windows Vista (32 bit)
    * Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, Pentium M 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 processor (for HDTV reception, a Pentium D or Pentium Dual Core or equivalent AMD Athlon 64 processor is recommended)
    * RAM: Windows XP - 256MB RAM (512MB recommended)
    Windows Vista - 512 MB (1GB recommended)
    * DirectX® 9 or higher compatible graphics card (64 MB real memory required for HD)
    * DirectX 9 or higher compatible sound card (Creative® Audigy® or M-Audio® recommended)
    * 1 GB of disk space to install software (20 GB recommended for TV recording)
    * USB 2.0 port
    * DVD-ROM drive to install software

    A couple notes:

    I do not know if the 6150 has 64mb of dedicated memory and finally you will only be able to see HDTV at 720p, if you want to see 1080p you need a 1920 x 1200 screen resolution.

    Thank you for the quick posts. So you are unable to tell me if the XBOX would lag on a shared video card? Yes, I know the screen resolution is a bummer. I had ordered the 1900 x 1220 on the Dell but I am unable to get that and I seem to have very few choices in Canada with regards to laptops. Sorry, I am not very technical but what is w/IGP?
