Hi, recently I bought a laptop for school work and I wanted to try hooking my Xbox 360 up to it (using the actual screen and speakers) using the VGA cables. The laptop has a DVI port but the cord is VGA, so I used a converter. But when I plug in the audio into the line in port and the VGA into the DVI port nothing comes out. I knew I had to switch from my desktop to analog but hen I tried no signal would come.

The video jacks on your laptop are outputs. You will need a special card(there are several types) to get video from an external source onto your laptop.

I was pretty sure that every laptop supports video out? I have a 7600go. Also, my audio out doesn't work, are you saying that the sound card doesn't support audio out too?

Video out yes, but you are asking for video in, which only a few notebooks have.

I am also unsure how well it word work with a capture card. I am almost positive that you would notice a delay that would make games difficult if not impossible to play.
