I have an old X1000 Compaq laptop ( which is a spare ). The graphics card which is an ATI 9000 32m is faulty. Does any body know an equivalent? I am looking in auction sites for a Laptop that is faulty so I can rob a working graphics card to get mine going. But there seems to be so many different models, with different graphics cards I am not sure which will work O.K. I am hoping to install fedora 9 on the laptop as a learning tool.

    Thanks

I believe the GPU on you notebook is soldered on to the motherboard. Mean you will have to switch out the motherboard.
