I just bought my the above listed laptop a few months ago, and I thought that it would suffice for my graphics needs... Until I purchased Everquest 2. I currently have a NVIDIA® GeForce™ 4 440 Go processor with 64MB dedicated video memory, and it won't run EQ2. Is there a card I can buy that will work in my laptop that will run EQ2? What are my options? Is this something I can install myself? How difficult is it?

    I have the AMD® Athlon™ 64 processor 3200+ with PowerNow!™ technology processor.

    Thanks in advance [ :D]

Shoulda got the eMachines... Most laptop video is mounted on the m.Board, and can't be changed. Maybe a driver update could help you. Check the nVidia site.

    First PC = Vic-20, 8" 128KB Home-Brew Floppy Drive ... Current Rig = eMachines m6805 ... Quantum Leap?

Drivers will do me no good, I need a video card that supports 4 "shaders", and mine does not support this. I will need to upgrade in order to have any hope in running everquest 2.

I guess from the replies I got that no one knows if this particular machine is upgradable?

No, for some reason HP put the athlon with a slow video card, and that's the best that is available at the moment. Sorry.
