Ok so im using this guide http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228
and i'v been doing some research on doing a "clean install" on my dv2500t that just arrived yesterday from hp home store (and actually early!) which was awesome! Anyway i did not receive a copy of "vista anytime" so i went to best buy and staples just a couple hours ago "compusa no longer in my area" to obtain a copy so i can get this thing cleaned up, but no luck, no one seem to know what i was looking for. So i get home and start looking again and i see that comp usa for 5 bucks will send you a copy. So finally my question: comp usa (online) offers a 32-bit and 64-bit to chose from. I just read that you can turn your vista premium from 32-bit to 64 if your doing a clean install, which i will be. My current OS is premium 32-bit, what would you guys prefer in my situation, and am i headed in the right direction??? Thx for helping me out!

Unless you have a real, legitimate reason to go 64bit I would avoid it like the plague for now.

Finding good drivers can often be a major issue (they MUST be WHQL certified... it will not install non-certified drivers, unlike 32bit) and there is no 16bit subsystem so some applications that will run on 32bit will not run at all or perhaps even install on 64bit. Plus you really aren't going to get any sort of performance improvement by going 64bit for another year or two as all of the applications you're going to be running are 32bit apps.
