    Hi guys...

Once more, i have a few questions for you, and as always, i'm confident you can help me.
I recently bought a HP Pavilion 9700t, its got two hard drive bays with a 320GB HDD in the first. As i still have another 320GB drive handy, i'd like to install it into my new notebook. Now, to my actual questions:

    1. The drive on bay 1 is a 5400rpm the second one i'd like to put in to bay 2 is a 7200rpm - is that an issue?
    2. Would there be an advantage if i would run the OS on a faster hard drive?
    3. If so, is it possible to run Vista from the secondary drive?
    4. And... is there anything else to consider?

    This is it for now...

i'm looking forward to your answers!

    cheers

    1. Nope, not a problem.
    2. Should be. Things will most likely run faster on a faster HDD ;)
    3. Yes.
    4. I'm sure you have this figured out, but make sure whatever spare drive you have goes with your laptop (For example, if it's an IDE drive, but your laptop only likes SATA drives, you have a problem :) There's probably no problem though...)

You can only boot from the drive that is in bay 1. So if you want to boot from the drive that is in bay 2, you must physically swap drives. At least that's what I have to do on my 9500t.
