Ok So I read on here about Visat shadow copy. Does sahdow copy take up 15% of a hardrive? Because my hardrive used to be 385 and when I unclicked the hard drive c in system restore it went from 385 to 414 gb. Will these disapear again or will they stay because I unchecked the system restore?

they go bye-bye if you unchecked system restore and will not come back. unless you recheck the system restore.

Why? I unchecked it and it gave me more gbs. WHy would it go away?

When the system restore was checked it had like 385 and when I unchecked it it gave me 404 and then 414gbs why would they go away?

shadow copies are part of vista's system restore. and they went away b/c you are no longer allowing vista to make them. and as for the increase of available space it cleaned everything it made so as it cleaned you gained it back.

if some thing goes wrong you will not have a restore option. but i never have mine on. i'd leave it uncheck if you have backups of everything that is important ie :pics, music. and i hope you are not scared of fresh installs if something does go dramatically wrong.
