    Hey guys,

I am looking to upgrade my girls Vostro 1400 to 2.5 gigs of ram and I was wondering what kind of ram would be compatible? I am looking for a 2 Gig module to add to the 512 Meg one it comes with.

I was looking at this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220229

has good reviews, is it compatible? Is there any other you would recommend?

    thanks for reading this :)

Yes it's compatible, and will work fine.

In fact, any ddr2 pc5300/5400 667MHz ram will work.

Also look at the hot ram deals thread for great prices on ram. It lists a OCZ 2gb ddr2-667 ram for $94.99(+ shipping) (after $15 rebate - Ends on 08/15) and a Supertalent 2gb DDR2-667 ram for $ 109.18(+ shipping)-cheaper if you dont want to use rebates.

Thanks for all the replies guys...I actually had to go with a system that included at least 2 gigs of ram for 100 dollars more and a better video card. Thats the best deal I got today since the other deal expired yesterday.

    thank you all once again
