    Vostro 1500 wireless-N Q

    If I order a Vostro 1500 with a 802.11G card, will the notebook still come with the 3 antennas for 802.11N? Or do I only get the 3 antennas if I order the Vostro with some sort of 802.11N card from Dell?

    Second question - What's the best 802.11 card/chipset to upgrade my Dell? I'll be traveling so odds are I won't hit any 802.11N networks, but if I can get a bit better range than the cards Dell offers...and while I'm getting better range, I imagine I may as well upgrade to 802.11N now rather than later?

    I just received my Vostro 1500. It has the Dell 802.11g card. It is accessing a network with a D-link DIR-655 router. The notebook is connecting at blazing speeds. Amazingly, the connection is faster than the speed of a desktop hard wired to the router.

    I have never heard of any notebook adapters coming with external antennas. That doesn't mean that they do not.

    External? No, I meant 3 internal antennae (which are actually just 3 wires, I think).

    And after checking the user's manual, + my friends 802.11G Vostro, I think that all Vostros come with 3 antennae to take advantage of a 802.11N card.
