WATER on Sony FE 780 LCD screen :(
Hi Crew, need a guild to dissassemble my 2 month old Sony FE 780 LCD screen

I bought this specifically for cpresentations, so the screen "look" is critical.Ok, 2 hours ago Water got slashed on it (bottled water)

I shut everything down asap. wiped it down, and rebooted, and everything seemed to boot OK.

Now I have a water stain in the bottom left quadrant, bad stain blending into lighter stain. The stain makes the screen images seem lighter, if that info helps.

Here are pics, I really need a dissamply guild asap...

If this happened two hours ago, I would tend to turn off the computer. Leave it alone until tomorrow and look at it again. Water + electronics is obviously not good. But water dries and maybe the whole problem will go away as it does.

It's just an opinion, but you may do more harm than good messing with it and inadvertantly spreading the water around more.

Leave the screen open too since the water is at the bottom. Keep gravity working in your favor.

Edit: Then again, I could be wrong:

Wow, my own FE790 is sad for yours. That really sucks -- I'm not sure what to do about fixing it other than calling horrible Sony for some help.

I would leave the notebok to dry for a few days. Don't use it for the moment at all, as some of the water could get to the more critical components, and that would have a much more dramatic effect. If by a few days, the water is till there, then you will have to get it repaired from somewhere, but I would use that as a last resort option, because it will probably be quite expensive.

HI EVERYONE, COLDN'T FIND MY OLD POST, BUT THIS IS FOR THE FORUM MEMBERS!

My problem from Saturday is solved

    1. I shut down and got everything as dry as I could WITHOUT taking anything apart

    2. After 1 hour, I rebooted and saw the "stain"

    3. I just left it running without using, and the natural heat evaposrated the water, now it's perfect again, no dead pixels, looks BEU-Tiful

Gracias to all. hope this helps others...

I merged the threads together. Anyway, its good to see the notebook is working again. If it happens again, I would be careful, as some of the water can leak into some of the more critical components of the notebook, and it may become damaged. But hopefully, that won't happen.
