    Hello,

I've been having weird random clicking noises on my hdd, and they seem to occur more when gaming. My games are stored on this drive, but there aren't any bad sectors (checked with two diff programs). I know that it is most likely from the head parking itself, but I'm not confident in changing hdparm settings. Anyone have similar problems with hdds? The drive is maybe only a month old, and I've been using it for about 2 weeks. My primary is a sata 3 SSD. Thanks!

Ah ok, well I've had WD drives in my desktop without random clicking noises. I'm assuming this problem can happen in any hdd...I guess I just got unlucky?

Unfortunately it is a common problem for many old batches of newly released Scorpio drives. They often rectify the problem in later revision batches. Just call WD and get it RMA'ed for another.

Thanks guys. It actually came with my laptop, but I think MSI may do the RMA. Else, I probably would have went for a hybrid drive or something. However, the click noise doesn't happen often. Is it just a design flaw or is it an indication that the drive will die soon?
