    WD 500gb drive performance

    Anyone know the relative performance of the 500gb WD drives would be compared to the other drives such as the 320gb 7200rpm WD or Hitachi?

    Read/Write rates should be similar. Access times will be higher.

    Spindle Speed: 5400RPM --> So, probably cooler, quieter and lower power consumption. (Probably !!)

    They use 2 platters, right?
    I would say it's faster.
