In my previous post, I decided that I was going to buy the WD Book since it was online for $80..pretty good deal, but I haven't bought it yet and I'm also considering purchasing the WD passport instead? I don't know which one is better for the long run. WD Book 160GB: $80, a bit bulky..but sturdy?, 7200 RPM
WD Passport 120GB: $90, less GB, from buy.com & I've never bought from the website before..., very fragile, easily scratched, shorter cable/cord, 5400 RPM, but portable..it can easily fit into laptop bag. Opinions?? Please let me know soon..because the $80 deal from the other website is ending this week! Thanks!!

buy.com is a good place to buy
As far as WD externals, I have a 320GB MyBook, 500GB MyBook and 2 160 GB Passports. I like the WDs better than seagate externals but not as well as maxtor external drives.
I switched to the passports because I work on the road and It is much less to carry 2 passports than my 500Gb MyBook. 2 tiny drives and 2 6" usb cables and thats it. The other drives stay at home and I switch out files when there.
I love the passports. I have not noticed them being fragil or getting scratched. I am as careful with them as I am with my notebook (it's painted, pics via link in sig). If you are worried about scratches, you can get a small case or some stick on screen protectors for it. Several co-workers have bought passports after seeing mine.
Note that the 160GB passport is also on sale for $129.
I highly recommend the passport - by far my fav and definately the best looking external drive.
WD Book VS WD Passport
