    So would you wait for WD? What's its normal price compared to the samsung one?

    Last I saw that I remember, it was something like the Samsung drive at around $100 and the WD drive at maybe $130-140?

    As long as the Samsung is cheaper I'd go with the Samsung. It performs fine.

    Keep in mind it's still 5400rpm. As an OS/programs drive most 500GB/7200rpm drives are faster.

    I'll use it in external usb enclosure. So i think it will perform exactly like the WD in real word situation... am i right?

    The WD is slightly faster but it will be hard (impossible) to notice the difference.

    Through USB it will be even harder to notice any difference.

    i got mine for 126 on ebay a few months ago. I heard some where the WD has a 3 yr warranty. I haven't really looked.

    Yes but HDD warranty wise it's like this:

    WD > Samsung > Seagate

    This Samsung HDD M8 1TB 9.5mm came on Samsung M2 1TB cases ?

    i am using samsung 1TB as secondary internal drive and it is peforming real nice....
