    Hi,

    Just wondering if anyone has heard when the WD5000BEKT (WD 7200RPM 500GB 2.5") is being released.

    When WD releases drives, is it usually available right away, or does it take a while to reach the North American market?

    No news so far.
    But in terms availability, the Northern America market is where it will reach first. Simply because it's an American company. However, it may take a little bit of time to reach retailers.

    Yeah, I've been googling it regularly, and no one seems to have any info on it. Although I am surprised WD will let Seagate have the spotlight with the only 500GB 7200RPM drive (even though it's not the best performer) for so long.

    At least if it is announced, we might get it here in Canada relatively quickly.
