Hi
I have just upgraded one of my memory sticks but my WEI rating for memory stays the same.
With 2x512MB I got 4.5
With 1x1GB+1x512MB I got 4.5
System memory shows the correct amount of RAM of 1.5GB and I can see improvement in performance as well.
Any thoughts please.

Don't worry about WEI scores. It's a terrible benchmarking tool and doesn't reflect a system's performance. Case and point - you see an improvement, but WEI doesn't.
-
WEI is not a proper benchmark and should not be used to check your system performance
-
why does anyone care about WEI?
In any case, it's quite possible that the ram is still running in single channel, so by performance standards, you shouldn't expect anything faster (ram operation) by adding more ram. However, the improvements you feel are due to having more ram. -
Given the cash at Microsoft's disposal, it's amazing that they don't simply buy one of the many companies producing good benchmarking software like Sandra, PC Wizard, PCMark etc
-
Speaking about RAM - what does WEI look at in RAM?
Amount, speed?
Dual -single channel?
As long as you don't know it its useless in this respect.
And about its reliability - I use my Vaio SZ on the Intel X3100 - and at long last thought - why not - and updated WEI for the Intel...
Well, it claims my X3100 is better than an NVidia 8400GS ... well, something sounds wrong here... -
WEI scores sucks, badly. Don't even bother to compare scores there.
I get 5,6 on the processor score with my T7600, and according to others that is a very high WEI score
If he had 2x512MB before i think he had dual channel, so
But i agree with you totally on that the improvements is because of the _amount_ of ram. -
hehe, 5.6 for t7600? Nice!)) my P8600 gets only 5.4 )
-
i have to say that the idea behind WEI is very bright))) Just the implementation is not that good)
-
Hehe yeah, check the attached file
I have 1MB more cache, but 70MHz less speed than yours thenbus-speed does not matter though, not any integrated memory controller on c2d

WEI did not change
